Lawyers Body Forms Inquiry Commission on Election Commission's Special Intensive Review
A lawyers' body has formed a five-judge inquiry commission to investigate the Election Commission of India's Special Intensive Review (SIR). The commission is scheduled to submit its report by December. The Lawyers Association for Constitution (LAFC) announced the formation of this five-member "independent commission" of former Supreme Court and High Court judges on October 2, 2026. One report questioned if the LAFC is Soros-funded.
