Punjab Govt Challenges HC-Ordered CBI Probe into ED Letter
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered a CBI probe into a letter from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning the Punjab Director General of Police. The High Court also reportedly reprimanded the Chief Secretary over a 'false' affidavit related to a Dearness Allowance (DA) case. In response to the High Court's order for a CBI investigation into the ED letter, the Punjab government, led by CM Mann, has decided to approach the Supreme Court. The ED letter reportedly named the Chief Minister's Officer on Special Duty (OSD). A politician named Bajwa welcomed the High Court's decision.
