Supreme Court to hear plea challenging CEC, EC appointments
A fresh petition has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and two Election Commissioners (ECs). The petition also alleges that Justice Surya Kant, who was part of a bench hearing a related case, did not disclose his son's connection to the Election Commission of India (ECI). The Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant will decide on a plea to recall a split verdict in the CEC appointments law case.
