Trump agrees diesel deal with Putin, drawing criticism
Donald Trump announced an agreement with Vladimir Putin for Russia to supply "300,000 tons of diesel" to the US, with millions more to follow, in a bid to lower fuel prices. The deal reverses years of pressure on Russia over the Ukraine war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the agreement, calling it an "unworthy" and "weak" decision, and stated it was "obvious weakness" to ease sanctions on Russian diesel without a de-escalation agreement. Analysts expressed doubts about the deal.
