Navanethem Pillay Awarded 2026 Nobel Peace Prize
Navanethem 'Navi' Pillay, a South African jurist of Indian origin and former UN human rights chief, has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. The committee recognized her work in promoting international law. Pillay previously chaired a UN commission that concluded Israel was guilty of genocide in Gaza.
