Opposition Leaders Detained in Delhi Ahead of CJP Protest
Ahead of a protest organized by the CJP seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, several opposition leaders and activists were detained in Delhi. Among those taken into custody were West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Dhruv Rathee. Reports indicated that over 1,500 people were detained amid heavy security, mobile internet suspensions, and restrictions at several Metro stations. Mamata Banerjee described the situation as 'beyond emergency'.
