Yogi challenges Akhilesh Yadav to contest from Ayodhya ahead of 2027 UP elections
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath publicly challenged Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav to contest the 2027 state assembly election from Ayodhya, saying he would also file his own candidature. The exchange, described as intensifying political banter ahead of the election, was made at a rally in Balrampur where Yogi also criticised the Ram temple issue, what he called 'mafia politics' and the language of the opposition.
