Navratri Celebrations Begin Across India with Devotee Gatherings
The Shardiya Navratri festival commenced with devotees visiting temples across India to offer prayers. On the first day, large crowds gathered at the Jwalpa Devi temple, while at the Maa Sharda temple, 97,786 devotees had offered prayers by 1 PM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes to the nation on the occasion, stating, 'May the mother's blessings always remain.' Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand also participated in prayers to Goddess Durga, seeking well-being for the state's residents. The festival, which spans nine days, includes specific prayers and rituals for different forms of the Goddess, such as Maa Shailputri and Maa Brahmacharini, with guidance on mantras, offerings, and worship methods being shared.
