Congress workers clash at Lucknow party office during leadership change
Chaos erupted at the Uttar Pradesh Congress headquarters in Lucknow as party workers clashed, throwing shoes and slippers, during a program to mark the assumption of office by the new state president, Aradhana Mishra Mona. The altercation occurred before Mona could formally take charge. Reports indicate the dispute involved supporters of former state president Ajay Rai and the women's wing president Mamta Chaudhary.
