Kerala High Court orders functional Data Protection Board in 8 weeks
The Kerala High Court has directed the Centre to make the Data Protection Board functional within eight weeks. This order comes in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that raised concerns about the compromise of citizens' privacy, particularly regarding passenger data at airports, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The court also gave the government two weeks to notify new anti-ragging guidelines.
