Humanoid robots deployed in Danish supermarkets for restocking
Denmark's Salling Group is piloting the use of humanoid robots, specifically Hive Robots, in its supermarkets to assist with restocking tasks. The initiative aims to alleviate the workload on human staff, particularly during night shifts, allowing employees to focus more on customer service. The robots are designed to operate in structured environments like warehouses and supermarkets, combining AI with human-compatible bodies for tasks such as perception, following instructions, planning, and movement. These robots are currently being tested in commercial and industrial settings.
