JNU Professor-MP FIR, BJP Protest Over Allegations
Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) professor and Member of Parliament Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, based on a complaint by the university's Chief Security Officer. The FIR follows allegations of sexual harassment against Akoijam, which led to his dismissal from JNU. In response, BJP Mahila Morcha (women's wing) staged protests in various parts of the country on Monday, demanding action against Akoijam. Police detained BJP women leaders who attempted to surround the Congress office in Delhi and took them away in a bus.
