Rahul Gandhi, INDIA bloc leaders challenge EC in Supreme Court
Rahul Gandhi and leaders of the INDIA bloc have approached the Supreme Court challenging the Election Commission's actions regarding electoral roll deletions. The Supreme Court Registry flagged "14 defects" in the petition, including missing documents and a fee shortfall of Rs 220. Separately, Rahul Gandhi was slated to host INDIA bloc MPs for a high tea, and a nationwide protest was planned. The Chief Justice of India (CJI) cited limits of court power and propriety in rejecting a plea from Rahul Gandhi and Kharge for a meeting. Meanwhile, the BJP has accused Rahul Gandhi of manhandling a woman journalist and has challenged him to provide proof instead of blaming the Election Commission.
