Defence athletes felicitated for Asian Games medals
Defence athletes who won 27 medals at the Asian Games were felicitated by Rajnath Singh. The Army chief, General Dhiraj Seth, also felicitated Army sportspersons for their performance at the Games, where Army athletes secured 20 medals. The Army is now focusing on preparing athletes for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. Separately, India's athletics squad for the Asian Para Games 2026 is yet to be officially released, four days after its send-off, raising questions about whether the squad will be smaller and if matching the Hangzhou medal haul will be a challenge.
