Congress MP Bimol Akoijam faces sexual harassment allegations at JNU, BJP women MPs demand action
Congress MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, a former JNU professor, has been accused by 11 female students of sexual harassment at Jawaharlal Nehru University. An internal inquiry led to his dismissal from the university. Delhi Police summoned him for questioning on Thursday. Several BJP women MPs, including Roop Kumari Chaudhary, met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and petitioned President Droupadi Murmu, seeking strict action against him. Akoijam has denied the allegations and said he would resign from Parliament if found guilty.
