Duane Davis Sentenced to 40 Years for Orchestrating Tupac Shakur's Murder
Duane 'Keffe D' Davis, a former Los Angeles gang leader, has been sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in prison for orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting death of rapper Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas. Shakur, a prominent figure in a hip-hop rivalry between the US East Coast and West Coast, was 25 years old when he was killed. Davis, 63, had previously boasted about his involvement in the shooting in books and interviews, though he denied it during his trial. The sentencing concludes a nearly 30-year pursuit of justice for the unsolved murder.
