Farmers Block Highways Demanding Higher Sugar Prices and Better Procurement

Farmers have blocked the Pune-Bengaluru national highway near Belagavi for a second consecutive day, causing traffic disruptions. The protest, involving sugarcane farmers, is centered on demands for a higher Minimum Support Price (MSP) for sugar, increased cane prices, and improved ethanol procurement. In a separate but related protest, farmers in Nagarkurnool blocked a road due to power supply disruptions. Authorities have requested Google Maps to mark the affected stretch of the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway as closed.
