France Sees Widespread School Protests, Greta Thunberg Joins
Tens of thousands of people, including schoolchildren, students, and trade unionists, participated in protests across France for the third consecutive week. On Tuesday, between 161,500 and 480,000 people marched, with Swedish activist Greta Thunberg joining the demonstrations. Protesters are demanding investment to address teacher shortages and crumbling school infrastructure. In Paris, clashes with protesters resulted in 11 police officers being hospitalized, according to the French Interior Minister. High school students are now considering the future of the movement, with a call for wider action on Saturday.
