Kolkata Police Commissioner Denies Knife Attack on Mamata Banerjee
Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal has dismissed claims of a knife attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee outside her Kalighat residence on Tuesday evening, stating there was "no substance or truth" to the allegations. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) had alleged that a woman attempted to attack the former CM with a knife. Separately, police thwarted a protest march by Mamata and the TMC in Kolkata.
