Houthis attack Saudi Arabia, disrupting events and raising economic concerns
Saudi Arabia announced it intercepted a missile targeting the region around the holy city of Medina, though Yemen's Houthis denied carrying out the attack. The Houthi group also claimed responsibility for a missile strike on an Aramco building in Saudi Arabia, which injured four people in Riyadh. These attacks have led to the postponement of several events, including the EU-Gulf summit and other unspecified Saudi events, with the Asian Cup potentially being delayed by a year. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned that the attacks could harm economies worldwide, although it also noted that Saudi buffers and energy backup could blunt the economic blow.
