Researchers: Zero-click Spyware Delivered Via Online Ads

Researchers from the University of Toronto have found that an Israeli digital advertising agency used millions of online advertisements to deliver "zero-click" spyware, allowing clients to mass-profile internet users and covertly hack targets. The spyware, identified as Discover-Tech's Controlium software, was reportedly used to target journalists, including those at Al Jazeera. The investigation indicates that the advertising agency served these malicious ads to hack devices and spy on users.
