Delhi Police Detains CJP Founder Ahead of 'Tiranga March'
Delhi Police detained Abhijit Dipke, founder of CJP, ahead of a planned 'Tiranga March' in Connaught Place. The march, organized by CJP, was scheduled for October 10. Authorities deployed over 32,000 security personnel, including 6,000 police officers and 220 companies of CAPF, and expanded CCTV surveillance across the city. The Supreme Court, hearing a traders' plea regarding the protest, stated it would act if the NDMC order was disproportionate and expressed hope for public understanding. A traffic advisory indicated 21 key routes would be affected on October 16. Separately, a BJP MLA denied political motives behind a 30-foot cockroach effigy planned to be burned alongside Ravana at a Delhi Ramlila.
