Haryana Power Strike Disrupts Services, Affects 15 Districts
A three-day strike by approximately 40,000 electricity workers in Haryana has led to widespread power outages, affecting 15 districts. On the first day of the strike, 118 sub-stations and 510 feeders were shut down. The power disruption has caused significant inconvenience, with reports of people taking to the streets in Gurugram and water supply being affected in villages, leading to generator operators allegedly charging up to ₹500 to fill water tanks in Jagadhari. State Energy Minister Anil Vij has appealed to the employees to end the strike and come for talks, stating the government is ready for discussions and will strongly advocate for their concerns. However, administrative arrangements have reportedly failed to mitigate the impact.
