Piyush Goyal criticizes West on climate finance, urges Indo-German trade growth
Union Minister Piyush Goyal, speaking at the India Centre and Indo-German Business Forum in Berlin, stated that developed nations have failed to deliver on their pledge of $100 billion in yearly climate finance, saying, "Haven't Seen Nickel or a Dime" of it. He also urged for a tenfold increase in Indo-German trade, aiming for €310 billion from the current €31.5 billion, and suggested a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) could be signed by December and implemented within four to five months. Goyal also criticized Europe's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and other regulations, warning that the EU might be "shooting itself in the foot" by creating artificial situations and new boundaries.
