Bombay High Court Allows Mangrove Removal for Vadhavan Port Project
The Bombay High Court has permitted the felling of 208 mangroves for the Vadhavan Port connectivity project, which includes an eight-lane highway linking to NH-48. This decision allows a significant hurdle in the port's development to be overcome. The court's order cited the project's 'public utility' status. Separately, the court also raised concerns regarding mangrove replantation in a case involving the bullet train project.
