Northeast India faces floods and landslides; Home Minister assures support
Heavy rains have caused flood-like situations and landslides in parts of Northeast India, particularly Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with the Chief Ministers of both states to assess the damage and assure central government support for relief and rehabilitation efforts. Rescue operations, including by the Indian Air Force, are underway to assist affected populations.
