Memory Chip Makers Sued Over Alleged Price Inflation
Three major global memory chip manufacturers, Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron, are facing a class action lawsuit in the US. The lawsuit accuses the companies of artificially restricting the supply of DRAM chips, including DDR3 and DDR4, to drive up prices. This alleged action is said to have contributed to the current high cost of RAM, with a pivot towards more expensive AI-focused chips also cited.
