Gig economy firms challenge Karnataka's gig worker law in High Court
Several major platform companies, including Swiggy, Zepto, and Zomato's parent company, have filed petitions in the Karnataka High Court. They are challenging the constitutional validity of the state's new Gig Workers Welfare Act, 2025. The companies argue the law conflicts with the national social security framework established by the Code on Social Security, 2020.
