West Bengal to introduce Uniform Civil Code, committee formed
West Bengal's Chief Minister has announced plans to introduce a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill in the state assembly. A high-level committee, headed by a former Supreme Court judge, has been formed to prepare a draft report within four weeks. The move follows similar initiatives in other BJP-ruled states, and the ruling party aims to present the draft to the cabinet soon.
