India's External Debt and Fiscal Deficit Show Increases

India's external debt has risen to $762.8 billion, with its ratio to GDP reaching 20.8% as of end-March 2026, according to RBI data. Concurrently, the fiscal deficit for April-May stood at 9.6% of the full-year target. Separately, Yes Bank announced plans to raise up to ₹16,000 crore through equity and debt.
