NHAI ordered to compensate for damaged vehicles due to poor roads
A consumer commission in Nagpur has ruled that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is responsible for providing good roads after collecting tolls. The commission ordered NHAI to compensate a vehicle owner whose car was damaged due to potholes, deeming the failure to maintain road quality a deficiency in service.
