Pakistan says Indus Waters Treaty remains valid and binding

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stated that the Indus Waters Treaty is "valid, binding and operative." He also warned of "profound consequences" for regional peace and security if Pakistan is deprived of its allocated waters. The treaty governs the use of waters from the Indus river system.
