Indian Tiger Reserves Close Core Areas for Breeding Season

Two major Indian tiger reserves, Satpura Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh and Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, have closed their core safari areas. The closures, effective from July 1 and lasting until September 30 respectively, are to facilitate the tiger breeding season. Satpura Reserve reported a record number of tourists prior to its closure.
