Cybercriminals Defraud Victims of Over ₹16 Lakh Through Deceptive Schemes
Two separate incidents of cyber fraud have been reported, resulting in a total loss of over ₹16.4 lakh for victims. In one case, two individuals were arrested in Maharajganj for allegedly defrauding people of ₹4.40 lakh by posing as representatives for gas connection KYC updates. In another incident, Varanasi police apprehended five cybercriminals from Delhi for duping individuals of ₹12.5 lakh by promising insurance benefits and money-back schemes.
