Russia-Ukraine War: Kyiv, Russian Cities Targeted in Escalating Attacks
Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile attack on Kyiv overnight, killing at least 13 people and injuring dozens, according to local authorities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that most of the targeted sites were residential buildings. Ukraine also claimed to have struck the Kronstadt naval base in Saint Petersburg and over 50 Russian oil sites. Russia, in turn, claimed that Ukrainian attacks have damaged civilian infrastructure across 42 regions over the past three months, resulting in over 8,000 civilian deaths. Ukraine has denied Russian claims of capturing the key eastern city of Kostiantynivka.
