Sebi introduces new framework for unpaid client securities

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has introduced a new auto-pledge framework for handling unpaid client securities. This framework clarifies that securities purchased outside the Margin Trading Facility, if unpaid, will continue to be credited directly to the client's demat account. The move aims to revise norms for brokers in managing these transactions.
