Security forces engage militants in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir
Security forces launched a search operation in multiple villages in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, following reports of suspicious activity. An encounter ensued in the Saidpora Payeen area after militants opened fire on security personnel. Reports indicate that two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants, identified as Zakir Ganai and Latif Butt, were cornered. One report states that two militants were killed, with one being involved in a previous attack in Pahalgam. The operation continued for a third day in some reports.
