Indian citizens fall victim to various cyber frauds and scams
Multiple Indian citizens have been victims of cyber fraud, with incidents reported across the country. In Hisar, police returned ₹20,000 to a cyber fraud victim. In Bhopal, a person lost ₹90,000 after being tricked into updating a bill for ₹12. Rajasthan cybercrime team arrested a key suspect in a ₹500 crore cyber fraud case. Separately, 25 men from Maharashtra were reportedly trapped in a cyber fraud den in Myanmar, where they were allegedly tortured and forced into scams. In Uttar Pradesh, four police personnel were defrauded of ₹25 lakh in an online trading scam, and the accused were arrested. Over 1,000 Indians are reported to be trapped in fraud hubs in Myanmar.
