Low CAA applications in Assam despite years of controversy
Despite years of controversy surrounding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), only 70 applications for citizenship have been received in Assam. Of these, six individuals have been granted Indian citizenship. The low number of applications raises questions about the impact and implementation of the CAA in the state.
