US Immigration Officer Kills Man During Enforcement Operation in Houston
A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent fatally shot a man identified as Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston, Texas, during an enforcement operation. The Department of Homeland Security stated the man ignored commands to stop and attempted to ram an agent, who then fired his weapon in self-defense. The FBI has launched a probe into the incident. Araujo was described as a Mexican national. His son stated Araujo was looking to hire workers at the time of the incident.
