Multiple Police Personnel Arrested for Bribery Across India

Multiple police personnel have been arrested across India on bribery charges. In Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi, an outpost in-charge and a constable were arrested by the anti-corruption team for accepting a ₹10,000 bribe, after already receiving ₹60,000. In another incident in Gopalganj, a Station House Officer (SHO) was accused of demanding ₹20,000 for completing a task, causing a stir within the department. A police ASI was also reportedly recorded demanding bribes ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹50,000, with the threat of jail time. Separately, in Chandigarh, a criminal was arrested with two pistols and six cartridges, who had 22 previous cases registered against him and had hidden the weapons under a stone.
