SEBI changes FPI registration fees to rupee-based system

India's securities market regulator, SEBI, has revised the registration fee structure for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs). The regulator has replaced the US dollar-denominated fee with a rupee-based charge, set at Rs 2.3 lakh. This change aims to simplify the process for FPIs and potentially ease borrowing rules for mutual funds.
