Heavy Rains Cause Flooding, Displacement Across Multiple Indian States
Heavy rainfall has led to widespread flooding and displacement in several Indian states. In Gujarat, Surat and Navsari experienced continuous rain, displacing hundreds and causing at least three deaths. The NDRF evacuated 85 people from flood-hit Surat. Uttarakhand reported 71 roads blocked and one woman killed in Pithoragarh due to heavy rain. Arunachal Pradesh's Lohit District saw flash floods affecting over 40 houses in Shivaji Nagar. Himachal Pradesh's Rampur subdivision faced disrupted road connectivity due to flash floods, while parts of Delhi and Gurugram experienced waterlogging. In Bihar, the Gandak river's water level rose significantly following heavy rain in Nepal's terai regions, prompting an administration alert.
