Teachers' Association Seeks TET Qualifying Marks Relaxation

A teachers' association has urged the School Education Department to relax the qualifying marks for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). This comes after a Supreme Court ruling in September 2025 mandated that most in-service teachers must clear TET to continue their employment, with exceptions only for those with less than five years of service. Andhra Pradesh plans a special TET for teachers appointed before 2011, while Madhya Pradesh is considering making TET the sole recruitment eligibility test.
