Manipur Violence: Killings, Arson, and Arrests Spark Tensions
Following the killing of six Naga villagers in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, tensions have escalated. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the killings. In a separate incident, six empty houses belonging to the Meitei community were set ablaze in Imphal West. Security forces intervened to prevent further escalation, stopping a mob and using tear gas and lathis. The Chief Minister has called for peace and justice.
