Ram Mandir donation controversy sparks political accusations and calls for investigation

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav attacked the BJP over alleged irregularities in the Ram Mandir donations, demanding a probe into the call detail records of those involved. He claimed that 99.9% of those involved would be BJP members and that only lower-level staff were being targeted in investigations, while senior officials were being protected. Congress also demanded a Supreme Court-monitored judicial inquiry and a forensic audit of the trust's accounts, questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence. Reports also surfaced about 23 employees involved in counting donations leaving their jobs and a ban on former soldiers speaking about the matter via WhatsApp messages.
