Two Indian states form committees to draft Uniform Civil Code
Maharashtra and West Bengal have established committees to draft legislation for a Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Maharashtra's seven-member panel is headed by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, while West Bengal's nine-member committee also includes Justice Desai.
