Rivers and lakes rise across North India due to heavy rain
Heavy rainfall has caused water levels to rise in several rivers and lakes across northern India. In Muzaffarnagar, the Solani river's water level increased, cutting off contact with multiple villages, prompting the administration to deploy boats and place outposts on alert. Chandigarh's Sukhna Lake also saw a rise in water levels, with authorities warning that floodgates might need to be opened if rainfall continues. In Uttarkashi, the Kheer Ganga river's water level rose, leading police to issue a warning for people to remain vigilant. Additionally, in Bihar, the Kosi river's water level increased, resulting in the opening of 17 gates at the Supaul barrage.
