US-Iran Tensions Disrupt Strait of Hormuz Shipping, Oil Prices Rise

Tensions between the US and Iran have intensified, leading to disruptions in tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. The US has reportedly reimposed a naval blockade and disabled an oil tanker near Hormuz. Iran has warned of further Gulf route closures and set terms for reopening the Strait, including compliance with a MoU and acceptance of its laws. Consequently, oil prices have risen for a third consecutive session due to supply concerns. The Directorate General of Shipping (DG) has advised Indian seafarers against sailing through the Strait of Hormuz.
