Supreme Court clarifies 'obscenity' in abuse case
The Supreme Court has ruled that using abusive language, specifically a four-letter expletive, does not automatically qualify as obscenity under the law. The court explained that for language to be considered obscene, it must be lascivious, appeal to prurient interests, and tend to deprave or corrupt minds. The ruling came in a land dispute case where the man's conviction for grievous hurt was upheld, though his sentence was reduced.
